TRAINING: Rope techniques
On Wednesday evening we got a small group together to train in techniques for protecting casualties and stretchers on relatively easy slopes.
This is what we call a “low angle” rescue where we don’t need a full twin rope system, but a simple single rope provides back up to the stretcher party.
Many of our rescues involve people who have been injured on a steep walking slope and they need carrying down to easier ground.
