Search for missing Llysfaen man
A search for a missing male has been taking place in and around Llysfaen and Llandulas, Conwy. NEWSAR were contacted by North Wales Police during the course of their investigation on Tuesday 2nd July and asked for the team’s assistance.
Fourteen NEWSAR team members and two of their trained search managers were tasked to search areas south of the A55, supported by four SARDA Wales handlers and their air scenting dogs.
The search was coordinated from NEWSAR’s specially adapted control vehicle and several teams were deployed into their respective areas by one of their Land Rover ambulances.
“Yesterday our volunteer team members were deployed and redeployed into several high probability search areas in and around Llysfaen. It was important that these areas be searched before nightfall and we are very grateful to SARDA Wales for the assistance they gave. It allowed the team to cover a much larger area, quickly.”
The search for the, local, middle aged man concluded just before nightfall, around 9.30pm on Tuesday 2nd June and recommenced at 10am on Wednesday 3rd July.
“Our search managers worked during the night, reviewing information and logs, studying maps of the area. Team members were briefed again this morning at 10am and the search will continue during today.”
