Search exercise with North Wales Police
On Sunday we hosted a joint training event between NEWSAR and Police Search Advisers (POLSA) from North Wales Police to help both organisations to work even better together. The exercise involved the search for a “missing fell runner”.
The POLSA and NEWSAR Search Managers planned the search and then NEWSAR teams deployed with POLSAs embedded with each group to show how we work on the ground. This resulted in the search successfully locating our rescue dummy a few hours later.
There was plenty of learning on search methods and we also had the opportunity to demonstrate several IT systems used for planning, recording and reporting.
A useful day for both organisations.
