Injured walker in the Berwyns – Moel Sych
The team was called out by Heddlu Dyfed Powys Police to assist a female walker after she had sustained a serious leg injury while walking on Moel Sych in the Berwyn Mountains . Due to the remote location and the need for urgent evacuation we requested the assistance of a helicopter from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. Team members made their way to the area in support of the helicopter in case low cloud or other issues required us to move the casualty down the hill first. In the end the casualty was treated at scene by the helicopter crew and winched up for transport to hospital. Thanks to them for making this the quickest and most comfortable way to be rescued. We wish the casualty a swift recovery.
