Injured mountain biker on Moel Famau
The team was called this morning by North Wales Police regarding an injured female mountain biker on Moel Famau. The team responded with two Landrovers to the summit. Due to the nature of the suspected injuries it was considered better to fly the casualty to hospital rather than bring them down the rough track in our landrover. We requested the assistance of the Coastguard Rescue helicopter from Caernarfon. The casualty was given immediate first aid by one of our team doctors who was also winched aboard the helicopter to travel to hospital with the patient. We wish the injured lady a speedy recovery!
Update 13/7/18: Through our Facebook post, a comment from the person assisted yesterday “I was the injured lady on Moel Famau on Thursday. I am extremely grateful for the help and first class service from the NEWSAR team, coastguard, NHS and my friends at the scene. I’m very lucky no major injuries and home resting now. I met some awesome people who give up their time to help others like me. You’re all amazing! Thank you, thank you! Cat Xxx”
