Horseshoe Pass – injured person
On the evening of Tuesday 10th June NEWSAR team members were called by North Wales Police to assist the Welsh Ambulance Service. This followed reports that a person had been seriously injured in a fall in the disused quarries just west of the Horseshoe Pass, on the A542 between Rhuthin and Llangollen.
A Sea King Helicopter from 22 Squadron RAF Valley was also called and this proved to be the fastest way to evacuate the casualty to hospital.
