Helicopter training with HM Coastguard
Despite losing an hour with the clocks change. team members and supporters were up bright and early to get to our base for the arrival of the HM Coastguard Sikorsky S92 from Caernarfon. The aircraft landed and we carried out ground safety briefs, cabin briefs (use of safety equipment, emergency procedures etc.) and then winching procedures.
Supporters group members were invited along and were able to benefit from a talk from one of the crew and a look around the aircraft.
Unfortunately (for us!) just as we were about to start live winch training the aircraft was called away on a real rescue in Snowdonia. We will reschedule for another day to complete the remaining items.
Thanks to our hosts Kingswood Inspired Learning for permitting use of their premises again for this training and continued hosting of our team base.
