Fundraising walk over the Welsh 3 Peaks

Thank you to Donna Harrison of Airbus who has provided information on this very successful event which will bring in much needed donations to the team. We are very grateful to be selected as one of the supported charities. Thanks to all the walkers, support crew and the NEWSAR Team Members who acted as guides and provided First Aid cover.

"On Saturday 3rd September 22 walkers, 3 leaders and 3 drivers took on the 24 hour Welsh Three Peaks challenge, the team included three NEWSAR volunteers either leading walkers, or driving a minibus. The team started at Pen y Fan, followed by Cadair Idris and finished at Snowdon walking a total of 17 miles (27.4 km), with an ascent of 2334 metres (7657 ft).

All walkers completed the challenge well within the 24 hour cut off time (team 1, 11 hours 35 minutes, team 2, 13 hours 49 minutes, team 3, 17 hours 24 minutes.

The team are raising money for both NEWSAR and MNDA and expect to raise around £2000 per charity."
