Callout 122: 9 Sep - Craig Yr Ysfa. Late on Saturday night, 2 climbers stuck in the cave on Great Gully called for help after being unable to make progress through the pitch. With the team at it's first team dinner in 3 years available team members were low so North East Wales Search and Rescue were covering for us. 6 team members, along with Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Team and NEWSAR walked to the top of the route and set up a technical rope rescue system. A team member was lowered approximately 10m down through the roof of the cave and both climbers were raised up to the top of the pitch, then along a fixed line to safe ground. After a long night, all hill parties were back at base for about 0600. Diolch yn fawr for all the help from our neighbouring teams. Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation / NEWSAR / Jenny Dart
