CALLOUT 26/22: Possible shout for help – Foel Fenlli
On Wednesday evening we were alerted by North Wales Police to a report of shouts for help on Foel Fenlli, near Moel Famau. We were training at our base, close to the incident, so a small group of team members went to investigate, but found no sign of anyone in distress. The area has good mobile coverage and other members of the public were around. Our MR colleagues in Snowdonia frequently get calls like this, which are very often related to groups of mountain goats who can sound very like cries for help. We’re not aware of any goats on Foel Fennli, but it is possible it was sheep. False call with good intent.
