CALLOUT - One Planet Llandegla 06.04.24

Callout : On Saturday afternoon, North East Wales Search & Rescue (NEWSAR) received a report of a female mountain biker who had suffered a lower leg injury after falling from her bike. The incident occurred on a remote section of the Llandegla mountain bike track, making access challenging.

Upon arrival at the scene and with the amazing assistance of the bike centre staff, the injured cyclist was quickly located, and her condition was assessed. It was determined that she had sustained a significant lower leg injury, causing considerable pain and limiting mobility. NEWSAR members administered initial pain relief and provided necessary medical attention to stabilise the casualty's condition. Once stabilised, the injured cyclist was carefully packaged to prevent further exacerbation of her injuries during extraction.

The team coordinated a safe and efficient extraction plan. Using specialised equipment, they carefully transported the casualty on a stretcher to a waiting Lland roverstationed nearby for onward travel to the road to meet @welshambulanceservice .
