CALLOUT - Flooding in the Wrexham area 16.10.24

At 1300hrs on Wednesday, we responded to a request from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service / Gwasanaeth Tân ac Achub Gogledd Cymru via North Wales Police for assistance with ongoing flood-related incidents across Wrexham County. At the time, there were multiple jobs ongoing.

A team of eight SRT (swift water rescue technicians), three drivers, and a small command/logistics team were deployed to Wrexham Fire and Ambulance Resource Centre.

Despite challenging weather conditions, a handful of jobs were dealt with by NWFRS, and the heavy rainfall expected into the evening fell to the east of the area, so the team was stood down at 9pm.

Our thanks must go to our friends from Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation mountain rescue who came over as additional support should it be needed.

Our team of volunteers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days responding to those in need throughout Flintshire, Denbighshire, Wrexham & parts of Conwy & Powys.
