CALLOUT 5/23: Flares seen near Prestatyn

In the early hours of Sunday we were called by North Wales Police after a member of the public reported seeing what he thought were two distress flares, over the hills just south of Prestatyn. Distress flares in inland areas with very good mobile phone coverage are not usually of concern, but Police Officers did investigate locally and consulted with the informant. No other reports were received and there were no matching calls to Police about an emergency in that area. Given all of this information our First Responder agreed with NWP that no further action was required, but we would be available to assist if the situation changed.
