Aldersey Green Golf Club raises much needed funds for NEWSAR

On Saturday 13th October, NEWSAR Treasurer Paul Kerr and team member Becky Waudby visited Aldersey Green Golf Club in Cheshire where they were presented with a cheque for £2161.55.

Club Captains, Jenny Ford and Colin Crabtree, nominated NEWSAR as their charity of the year as Jenny has known about the Team for some years having worked with Becky Waudby.   Jenny said “Having known Becky for a long time, I am fully aware of the work that NEWSAR does.  Its members are all volunteers who give their time without pay.  They are on call 24 hours a day and will turn out to callouts whatever time of day and regardless of the weather.  NEWSAR is a worthwhile and undervalued charity and we are pleased that we have been able to support them this year”.

NEWSAR Treasurer Paul Kerr said “I would like to thank Jenny and Colin for nominating us as their charity and I would also like to thank the members of and visitors to Aldersey Green Golf Club for raising such a huge amount of money for us.  NEWSAR needs to raise around £20,000 per year to remain operational and we rely on donations like this to continue the work we do”.
