Update:  27/09/12 10:01am

On Wednesday evening the Team was called by North Wales Police to search along the River Clywedog, near Felin Puleston, Wrexham, following the earlier discovery of a woman’s body in the same vicinity.

20 volunteer team members were tasked to various locations along the river and surrounding water meadow in Erddig Park.  Team members with specialist water search skills and equipment were able to carefully work in the area around the river margin.  After a number of hours searching, one party of NEWSAR team members discovered the body of a person in the river.

Members of the NEWSAR party then secured the site while we awaited the arrival of North Wales Police Officers and the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service.  The NEWSAR volunteer team completed handover of the site to the statutory services and stood down at approximately 03:00.
