New Cliff Rescue equipment

NEWSAR Team Members have taken delivery of a fantastic new Cliff Rescue Tripod thanks to a donation from the Mold based Bryn Gwalia Bowling Club Fund and help from R3 Safety & Rescue.

The Tripod is designed to allow a safer and more efficient configuration for cliff or quarry rescues. NEWSAR Equipment Officer Colin Martin explained the improvements, “The Rock Exotica Vortex Tripod will greatly increase the safety of team members at the all important point of maximum stress on the equipment when we first lower a rescuer over a cliff edge and allow for a very controlled insertion or recovery of a rescuer and a casualty and a stretcher.”.

NEWSAR Fundraising Officer Gill Brailsford said, “The grant from the Bryn Gwalia Bowling Club Fund and help from R3 Safety and Rescue Limited has allowed the team to purchase this equipment for use on rescues around Mold and beyond.”
