Cliff Rescue Training – Wednesday 11th May

On Wednesday evening Team Members gathered at Trevor Rocks quarry near Llangollen to practice our simplest rope work system.  We use two separate ropes, the first is used as an abseil line and the second as a safety line.  This allows just two lightly equipped team members to get one of them to a casualty who is on vertical or steep ground, in order to secure them and provide first aid.

We set up four separate stations and practised in pairs, with one person abseiling and the other protecting them with a second back up rope controlled from the top.

The photos show team members taking part in various parts of the process.

Trevor Rocks quarry provides a superb vantage point to look across the Dee valley.  We were so lucky to have some fantastic weather.

Thanks again to Babs for these brilliant photos.
