Llyn Brenig search for missing male

Landrover-BrenigJust after lunch time, on Sunday 2nd June, NEWSAR team members were sent to Llyn Brenig to search for a missing middle aged gentleman, who was on holiday in the region.

Two of the team’s specially trained Search Managers deployed 19 North East Wales Search and Rescue team members, in four search parties, into areas around the dam end of the reservoir.

NEWSAR were assisted by four members from Search and Rescue Dog Association (SARDA) Wales and three of their air scenting search dogs.

NEWSAR Press Liaison Officer, Rich Brady, said “Our volunteer team members searched areas around the reservoir into the early evening.

Despite some difficult terrain and dense woodland, teams were deployed two or three times to ensure that the high probability areas had been searched before nightfall.

Once again we’re very grateful to SARDA Wales and I would like to thank them for the assistance they provided.”

The team was stood down at 1900 hrs and the search postponed, having completed searches in high probability areas.
