Thank you very much

Thank you from Harold BurrowsWe have received a great deal of praise from the local community over the last few days and have even been thanked by Assistant Chief Constable Gareth Pritchard along with the other NWMRA teams in this statement…

We would, however, like to take a moment to thank you for all of your help during the heavy snow last weekend.

Members of the public came to our aid on several occasions, too many to mention them all; but those that come to mind are:

  • The tractor drivers that towed one of our team vehicles through snow drifts, allowing our team doctor reach a family in desperate need of medical attention
  • The guys driving the snow ploughs that cleared a cul-de-sac and towed abandoned cars out of the way so our team vehicle could access a gentleman that needed taking to hospital
  • The countless members of the public that picked up shovels and helped team members clear roads and paths to ensure casualties could be reached and taken to safety as quickly as possible.

We received over 20 calls for help and responded immediately during the very difficult time over the weekend. I would like to put on record a big thank you to all the people who also came out to help us, the North East Wales Search and Rescue (NEWSAR) team. They came out with shovels to help us dig a way forward, they helped pull our vehicles through the deep snow drifts, and with a short thank you and a wave we carried on.

If we did not say thank you then, here it is from me THANK YOU ALL.
